Shakespear reflection

I feel that shakespear does a great job of making the plot evil and graphic to detail as he does with Lady Macbeth. He also portrays women in kind of evil ways. He transformed what looked like a normal person, into a power hungry killer. He also really emphasized the drama of the human emotion as he does in plays such as Macbeth or Romeo & Juliet, although his plays don't end happily as people would want them to.

Bullying with turkeys and goblins

There has always been a conflict between good and bad in the world of El Dorado. In a world where good goblins, good turkeys, zombie turkeys, and bad goblins exist, their legends of Santa Claus have always been told but never believed. Years and years have gone by and no Santa showed up. Through out time the good turkeys and good goblins have always been bullied by those of the zombie kind. All but one good turkey and one good goblin were fed up with the nonsense of bullying and were tired of not getting presents from the so called, "Santa Claus" There names were Bob(Goblin) and Rob(Turkey). Both brainstormed and came to a conclusion that through only kindness and lovingness could they change the way things were in there school. They had this idea if they made the zombies favorite foods to eat they may stop giving them and their friends wedgies and stop stealing their left shoe.

So on a bright and early morning Bob and Rob awoke early to make the nastiest good things all zombies loved eating, which was dirt with frosting on it. A lot of hard work went into the shoveling of the dirt into huge piles. The hard and dirty labor left huge blisters on Bob's hand and Rob's fury wing. So once they packed garbage bags full of dirt and packed gallons of frosting they headed out of the door in hopes of success in their quest.

The usual day went on. Nothing but bullying and teasing. By the time lunch came around the zombies were starving and cut in line like always in the lunch lines. Bob and Rob went to a table and carefully assembled the dirty delight. A couple of minutes went by and both Rob and Bob stood up on a table and yelling, "Free dirt with frosting for those who will be kind and loving!" Zombies were baffled. They were speechless and nearly feel to the ground. The cafe went quite. Then Bob saw something. Something that was so shocking he couldn't help but to do the same. He saw a single tear a zombie had just wiped from his face. The zombies thought that since someone had made food for them, they must love and care for them. The zombies rejoiced and said they were sorry to the turkeys and goblins. In that one day Rob and Bob felt accomplished. No more bulling went on from the day forward.

Christmas time came around and everything had been going very well. Rob and Bob were excited that everyone would finally get presents for there bright and promising christmas. It was Christmas eve and everyone went to sleep. Christmas day greeted all zombies and turkeys with presents under their trees. Everyone could not believe that the legends were true. They preached being kind and loving since then on. THE END.

College

The University of Arizona will have me reading about some pretty current history dating back to the late 1900's to the yearly 2000's with a little bit of Native American history. I would manly be reading about our nations conflicts, not only in our country but our of country as well, such as bombings in Iraq and Afghanistan. These skills will offer great lessons. Lessons as to why we went to war in the first place which affected our economy and so much more. I am really not being prepared for this. I was really young when this happened so it's not like i remembered of course. And learning about folk tales and legends in my english classes are not cutting it.

Arizona State University will have me read a book called "The Journey of a Teacher". I think this offers different opinions and views about what a teacher has to go through on a daily basis and the values and methods a good teacher should have. The skills that this offers me could benefit me greatly. If one day I decide to become a teach, i would have learned what I'd have to do and what'd I'd go through on a daily basis, and the the amount of preparation it requires. The things I am learning now is not really preparing me for this type of reading. We mostly do fiction reading in my english class.

Sonnet

I walk the graves alone and sad
I wipe the tears that run and fall
I feel alone even with family and friends
Memories fade of our life experiences

The hole awaits the body of a loved one
I pray that God will take care of his soul
Welcome him into His house
Take care of him like her was your Son

It is very sad he had to go
I will have an emptiness in my heart
I wish that I could have spent more time with you
But now all i have are memories

Movie Review

There were a lot of conflicts and misunderstandings in Beowulf. Several examples include Beowulf not seeing himself as a specific religion but yet King Hrothgar announces that he is the king of Danes, and also when he uses the word "Holy God", which is a christian term. And you can tell by seeing the movie that Beowulf doesn't live by the standards and expectations of Christianity. But at the same time he does. Like helping people. As he sailed across the sea to help people with their problems, such as Grendal. He doesn't seem to want to live life after earth, and seems to mainly want to leave a legacy behind rather than giving glory to God. Throughout the movie he is related as a God, which when is faced with the Dragon he dies, which proves he isn't a God.

The movie left out some stuff that i noticed from the passage in the text book. The movie left out the battle of the dragon, which told nothing of any treasure that Beowulf would have received. In the text book, characters had a different physical description than in the movie. In the text book it said Grendal was like a demon. Big and fierce, with big teeth. And so was Grendal's mother, with long claws. In the movie they're just like regular people. Except for Grendal which was like a troll.

I think these changes weakened the emphasis on Christianity because the way the characters are described in the book makes it more like a battle between Beowuld(God) and Grendal(Devil). Making the characters in the movie more human-like really takes away that sense of dark and evilness.

Ink with Expressions

Why is it more common now days for teens to have the need for tattoos. For some it is a religious thing, for others it's symbolic, and for me its for a deep meaning or an accomplishment in life. May be it's the need to be what we see on the media. For us teens today, I believe we want to be like our favorite rap artist, athlete, or celebrity. Whether its Lil Wayne, Lebron James, or Captain Jack Sparrow. From what i see, i think it's more of a symbolic thing. Being from a strong Polynesian community it is quit common for someone to have a tattoo. Whether it's a symbol of a tribe, family emblem, or for someone who has past away. Alot of my friends have either their family symbols or signs of luck or whatever. However, maybe us teens want to be what's out there in the world and what is on the media. Everyone wants to have the feeling that they are important and having a tattoo will seperate themselves from others. Making like they're important but really don't truly understand why they got it or if there is any meaning to it. But all in all I think the biggest reason why us teens want tattoos so badly is that we want to be unique and different in our own ways. Teens see this as body art and want to express themselves the way they are. From a personal experience, I lived in Hawaii and in California, and got to meet alot of different and unique people. From what I've learned, if a person has a passion or a strong liking towards something, one may get a tattoo. My friend Malique Banks, who is a fantastic drawer actually tattooed some of his favorite drawings on himself as accomplishments he has made. This, to me shows his unique ability and its something different. Another reason why i believe teens want tattoos are because the way they feel, such as a time in life where they are sad like at a funeral, or a time of happiness where someone is born. Tattoos in several ways may be positive and negative, certain people may look at this art as defaming rather than expression but this is just one way I believe teens express themselves.
